Mr Tim Bishop is a fellowship-trained complex Spinal Surgeon and works at Wimbledon Clinics as a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon.
His practice includes all aspects of spinal surgery, including surgery for cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral pathology. He has special interests in adult and paediatric spinal deformity, metastatic spinal disease and spinal trauma.
As a Spinal Surgeon, Tim Bishop regularly performs microdiscectomy for disc prolapse, spinal decompression for stenosis and spinal fusion (cervical and lumbar) for neurogenic pain. He is also skilled in performing complex spinal trauma and tumour stabilisation, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty for spinal tumour/osteoporotic fracture and fusion for scoliosis/kyphosis.

Tim Bishop qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1994. Having completed his basic surgical training, he went on to carry out specialist training in orthopaedics in the South West Thames region.
Since his appointment as a Spinal and Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon at St George’s Hospital in 2009, Tim Bishop has worked to expand and develop the spinal service there. St George’s has now become one of London’s four major trauma centres, is the regional tertiary referral centre for metastatic spinal disease and a regional centre for scoliosis treatment.

Tim Bishop is the Clinical Director for the surgical directorate at St George’s and President of the St George’s Hospital Medical School Rugby Football Club.
